Prairie Ranch spent years searching for World Champion mares to
be the foundation for their breeding program, and now with broodmares
such as Ultra's Formal Request, Vive la Difference and now TRE's
No Explanation, SPR's breeding program is well underway. We are
consistently getting type with refinement, and of course, talent.
We are not willing to settle for just a pretty face: first and foremost,
they must be able to perform, to have the natural ability to "wave
their legs" and with the help of their trainer, Kathy Shorten,
these young horses are well on their way to becoming the future
world champions of the Morgan Breed.

We are deeply saddened by the unexpected and tragic loss of this wonderful mare.
Ultra's Formal Request is probably one of the most recognized mares in today's showring. Winner of the Breeder's Sweepstakes as a weanling, she went on to be World Champion Mare as a yearling, Reserve World Champion Mare as a two year old and was an English Pleasure champion. Clearly, one of the most beautiful mares to grace the ring, Request is now producing exquisitely beautiful foals that can also wave their legs. Her 2004 filly, SPR CHANEL, by the sensational sire World Champion Park Saddle Horse SERENITY MASTERPIECE is simply stunning. |

Ultra's Formal Request
This stunning mare has just completed her junior years and has now been brought to the broodmare ranks to replace her wonderful dam. She is now in foal to World Champion Centerpiece for her very first foal in 2006.
We are thrilled to welcome SPR PRIMETIME to our line-up! This nifty bay colt arrived on March 14th, 2006, just in time for St. Patrick's Day celebrating. See his photo on our Foals page.

This beautiful black four year old mare was a strong competitor in the Pleasure Driving division with Kathy Shorten. Tall, leggy and talented, this mare has now joined the exclusive Stove Prairie broodmare band. SPR Maverick is her 2005 model, an outstanding liver chestnut colt sired by Whitmorr Law And Order. One of those very special, once-in-a-lifetime foals, you can see him on our Yearlings page.
No Explanation just produced a spicy 2006 filly on February 20th by the late, great sire HRH Legend Command.

The dam of our World Champion Amateur Park Saddle horse, HRH Aladdin, "Blue" came to us at Christmas 2003 (thanks, Mervyn!) heavy in foal again to HRH Legend Command, the sire of our Aladdin.
Laddy's little brother arrived on May 21st, 2004, and SPR VEGAS is a chestnut version of his sibling. Blue is bred back to HRH Legend Command for a 2006 foal--due any day now. |

Vive La Difference, a World Champion English Pleasure Mare, has now been retired to SPR's broodmare band. After several successful show seasons as Gail's English Pleasure Amateur Horse, Vive is now stamping her foals with her own refinement and elegance. They possess an exotic look and Vive's powerhouse ability and will clearly be future contenders in the showring.
Vive's 2004 filly, SPR X-Rated, sired by World Champion Ultra's Special Agent, is eligible for the World Morgan Futurity. |
